Clallam County Genealogical Society

Karen Mitchell, Award winning Librarian!

CCGS is proud to announce that Karen Mitchell, a founding member of Clallam County Genealogical Society is the winner of the 2023 Washington State Genealogical Society President's Award,  a prestigious award presented to only one person annually for their contribution to the genealogical community.  After her retirement from a career in private education, she volunteered to take over the position of Librarian at the CCGS Research Center.  She has overseen and encouraged growing our collection to over 5,000 books, periodicals and microfilm, recataloging and relabeling the collection and improving the online catalog.  She also served 3 terms as CCGS President during COVID.  Thank you, Karen, for all you do to help make CCGS a great society and genealogical resource to the community!
